Yesterday it rained. So out of sheer boredom Kendra and I bummed around the amazing and quaint little town of Nappanee. We went to the Main Street Coffee Shop and took advantage of their free wifi without buying any drinks. After that we went to the thrift store down the street, but we didn't buy anything there either. After that we were on our way back to the car and stood under the roof of a building to take shelter from the "pounding" rain. We discovered it was the roof of a darling little chocolate shop and we just had to go inside. We bought some delicious truffles and chocolate covered pretzels and oreos. We quickly returned to the car and headed to McDonald's and bought two of their delicious smoothies and hurried back to camp to make everyone jealous of our treats. (it worked btw) We soon discovered it was more miserable at camp then anywhere else we had been thus far so we returned home and set about making plans to watch the Notre Dame game. We called up our dear friend Erin but she ignored us so we tried again later. She finally answered the phone, and we informed her that we were coming to crash her house. She was fine with it. Unfortunately 15 minutes after we got there my darling mother called and told us we had to come back to camp for supper. This was not a thrilling thought considering the fact that we were still quite full of chocolate. (and pretzels for Kendra) But being the sweet submissive teenagers that we are we quickly complied to my mother's request. Once there we quickly stuffed ourselves in order to leave again but once again my mom stepped in and made us take my wee little sister and Sophia mini-golfing. We did. With smiles on our faces.... ;) After the tedious task was over we took a walk around the large campsite and scouted out familiar faces. After that we stood around the campfire, but then we decided we wanted to go home before the deepening fog became deeper. We took Stanton and Jaron with us so that they could start a campfire for us at home. On the way there Kendra missed the road she was supposed to take and nearly panicked. She stopped dead in the center of the road with Stanton yelling at her in the backseat. I quickly came to the rescue and told Stanton to be quiet and Kendra to keep driving. Finally we arrived home safe and sound, and the guys started a fire...which was very small until Kendra and I came outside and helped it along. After that the guys had to go back to camp, and me and Kendra stayed up and schemed evil plans, and deactivated my facebook account...and then we went to bed. It was a long monotonous September 11, but we survived and for we thank God.
*Note from Kendra. Some portions of this story have been greatly embellished by Gwen. And some under told. Oh. And the truth really is I did -not- stop dead center in the middle of the road. And I didn't panic. I knew exactly what I was doing. :) They didn't. And it was foggy. And Stanton is an amazing backseat driver!
15 minutes in photos. Rather unfortunately we forgot about taking pictures while doing the most exciting things. Bummer, huh? Oh, and since this is still Kendra I'm going to put a disclaimer out there--all these pics are from a point and shoot camera and unedited.
